Setting Reorder Levels in ERPNext

Reorder levels help you maintain optimal inventory by automatically generating purchase requests when stock reaches a predefined minimum level. Here's how to set them up in ERPNext:

Method 1: Setting Reorder Levels for Individual Items

  1. From your ERPNext Sidebar, Go to Stock:
  2. Navigate to: Stock > Items Catalogue > Item
  3. Open the item you want to configure
  4. Set reorder levels:
  5. In the item form, scroll to the "Reorder Levels" section
  6. Click "Add Row"
  7. Select the Warehouse where this reorder level should apply
  8. Enter:
  9. Warehouse Reorder Level: Minimum quantity before reordering
  10. Warehouse Reorder Qty: Quantity to order when level is reached
  11. Material Request Type: "Purchase" or "Transfer" (depending on your needs)
  12. The final step is to Save the Item.
